There's something about a pumpkin patch that makes fall feel official. The wagon rides, the mud on your boots, the search for the perfectly round (or hilariously lopsided) pumpkin, the hot apple cider afterwards. Ottawa and the surrounding area have some of the best in eastern Ontario.
Whether you want a free, no-frills patch for a quick stop or a full farm festival with mazes, shows and haunts, here are the best pumpkin patches near Ottawa this fall, with addresses, prices and what to know before you go.
Before you go: this guide was prepared on October 20, 2026, from the farms' own websites and local listings. Hours, prices and end dates can change with weather and crowds, so check the farm's website or social media before you head out. Several farms are open through Halloween, so there's still time.
If you just want to pick a pumpkin without paying to get in, these two Ottawa farms are great options. You only pay for the pumpkins (and any extras).
6100 Fallowfield Road. A big pumpkin patch with free admission, open seven days a week, with extra 5-acre patches planted this year. Wagon rides, horse and pony rides and bonfires are available on weekends, and there are also gourds, hay bales and corn stalks.
Best for a quick, budget-friendly outing close to the city.
6158 Rideau Valley Drive North. About 5 km south of Manotick village. The pick-your-own pumpkin patch is open through October 31, 2026, and a wagon ride to the patch (a wristband also covers the corn maze) runs daily from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The farm market is open daily and sells produce, seasonal decor and baking, including pumpkin pies.
For a full day out, these farms turn fall into a festival. Expect a ticket price, and plenty to do.
7893 Bleeks Road. About half an hour west of Ottawa. Wagon rides, live and puppet shows, mazes, a parade and pumpkin picking. Runs to November 1, with admission from about $25 plus tax.
Best for families who want to make a day of it. Frightfest, the farm's haunted attraction, is aimed at older kids and adults.
1865 O'Toole Road. About 30 minutes east, near Orléans. A Halloween playground by day, with u-pick pumpkins, mazes, a petting zoo and playgrounds. Runs through October 31, with admission around $22 to $24, and you can bring a picnic.
By night, the farm runs the sKreamers haunted attraction for older visitors.
670 Cedarview Road. In southwest Ottawa. A corn maze and wagon rides, running to November 1, at about $15.46. A smaller, more affordable farm outing.
Not a pick-your-own patch, but one of the most memorable pumpkin experiences in the region. Thousands of hand-carved, illuminated pumpkins line a lit walking path at night, east of Ottawa. It runs through October 31, with tickets around $21 to $23.
Pick a time slot, dress warmly, and expect a drive of about an hour. Great for date nights and families with older kids.

Fallowfield Tree Farm or Millers Farm. Free to enter, so you only pay for pumpkins and any rides.
Saunders Farm or Proulx Farm. Shows, mazes and animals, with plenty to keep kids busy for hours.
Millers or Fallowfield for a gentle wagon ride and easy walking. Go early, before the crowds and naps.
Pumpkinferno for the lights, or Proulx's sKreamers or Saunders' Frightfest for a scare. Check age recommendations first.
Late afternoon at Fallowfield or Millers, when the light is soft and the patches are quieter.
With Halloween on Saturday, October 31, go on a weekday if you can. Weekends are the busiest.
Choose a pumpkin with a firm, intact stem and no soft spots, cuts or mould. Never carry it by the stem.
A pumpkin that sits steady is easier to carve and display, and less likely to roll off the porch.
Carved pumpkins last only a few days, especially if it's mild out. Carve a day or two before Halloween, and keep uncarved ones in a cool spot out of direct sun.
Wear boots that can handle mud, pack layers for a cool day, and bring a wagon or bag for your haul. Check each farm's policies on pets and payment before you go.
A day at a pumpkin patch is a nice preview of what life is like in Ottawa's village and rural communities. Many of these farms sit in areas that are popular with buyers who want more space.
Home to Fallowfield Tree Farm, with the farm country feel just outside a growing west-end community.
A village on the Rideau River with Watson's Mill, near Millers Farm and rural properties to the south.
A village east of the city, near Proulx Farm, with country roads and room to breathe.
Saunders Farm country in Ottawa's rural west, with larger lots and a quieter pace.
Neighbourhoods near Cedarview Road offer a mix of suburban convenience and nearby green space.
Homes outside the main service area usually have a private well and septic system, so budget for inspections and testing. Also check internet options, road maintenance and snow clearing, and how far you'd drive to work, groceries and schools. Visit in winter as well as in fall, if you can.
